Message I just got a new Koyo radiator when my radiator cracked for an unknown reason while cruising in the canyons.
I also decided to do a complete 60K service with new belts, pump, thermostat ...etc...
The shop was very good and made sure that there was no bubbles in the system, and run the car for more than an hour while adding radiator fluid with 2 bottles of redline water wetter .. till the radiator was completely full and all the air bubbles were out !!
Now the car runs hotter I can feel the heat under the car by the downpipes .. inside the car by my legs ...and in the ashtray area .. when I open the hood, I can not touch the plenum or radiator cap, because it is sooo hot !! even after 1/2 hour from starting the car when cold. In the past with the stock radiator, the car never run this hot ! and the plenum was never this hot ! Temp in San Diego never goes above 75F, I can't boost more than 9-10 psi without hearing audible detonation !
I am thinking of replacing the Koyo, direct OEM replacement, I have now, with the high performance, all aluminum one !!
It's only $100 more !
I really expected this one to be as good if not better than OEM ! maybe not !
